A Trained, Checklist-Based Assessment

This is a structured, in-home walkthrough focused on safety, accessibility, and the practical realities of daily living.

The assessment is informed by the Senior Home Safety Specialist™ (SHSS) training from Age Safe Canada, along with the Home Safety Assessment Checklist™ used in that program.

We move through your home room by room, using this checklist as a guide to look at how your space is set up and how it is actually used. That includes entryways, stairs, bathrooms, lighting, flooring, and everyday movement through the home.

The goal is simple. To give you a clear, usable understanding of your home and what it needs.

This is not a rushed visit or a quick glance. It is a thoughtful, systematic review based on a recognized checklist approach and real experience working in homes like yours.

The Report

After the visit, you’ll receive a clear, written report that brings everything together.

This is not just a list of issues. It is a practical tool you can keep and use over time.

It gives you a clear picture of your home, what needs attention, and what can wait.

Most homeowners do not have anything like this. When something goes wrong, they start from scratch.

This report helps you avoid that. It gives you a reference point, a way to stay organized, and a clearer path forward.

Why It's Free

The best way for us to give useful, accurate recommendations is to understand your home properly.

This assessment allows us to do that.

Many clients choose to move forward with us afterward, whether for small repairs, safety upgrades, or ongoing maintenance. But there is no obligation.

We prefer to start with clarity so that any next steps are based on real information.

Is This for You?

This service is a good fit for many different situations.

You may be thinking about how to stay in your home safely as you get older, or supporting aging parents and wanting peace of mind that their home is set up well.

You might have a growing list of small issues and not know where to start, or you may be preparing a home for someone returning from hospital and want to make sure everything is safe and manageable.

In many cases, people simply want a clearer understanding of their home without committing to major work. You do not need a specific problem to benefit from this. Often, the most valuable improvements are small ones, identified early.
